SUMMARY Algebra Connections Map Algebra isn't a pile of isolated skills — it's one connected web where every topic builds on the last. Everything starts at the Foundations. Variables, expressions, order of operations, and the properties of real numbers are the bedrock every later topic leans on. Two engines drive the course: solving (linear equations → systems → rational and radical equations) and modeling (functions → exponentials → quadratics). Functions are the connective tissue. Once you see a relationship as a function, linear, exponential, and quadratic behavior all become the same idea wearing different clothes. Exponents branch the map. The laws of exponents feed both exponential functions (growth/decay) and polynomials (multi-term algebra). It all converges on real-world applications. Systems, quadratics, rationals, and radicals come back together to model and optimize real situations. Each box is a topic; each arrow points from a prerequisite to the topic it unlocks. Read it top to bottom: foundations at the top, real-world applications where every path meets at the bottom. The building blocks of algebra: variables, expressions, order of operations, and the properties of real numbers. Everything in the course starts here. Builds on: this is the foundational topic. Leads to: Linear Equations, Functions. Solving for unknown values using balance and inverse operations — the fundamental skill that unlocks the rest of algebraic problem-solving.
