Build circuits with switches and LEDs to discover the logic behind computers and digital systems! Click the switch to turn it on and off. What happens to the LED? Now there are two switches connected one after another. Try different combinations – when does the LED light up? Now the switches are wired differently – they're connected in parallel, giving electricity two possible paths. When does the LED light up? Let's see the two patterns side by side. Notice how the circuit wiring determines the logic! You experienced Boolean logic through physical circuits! Series wiring naturally creates AND operations, while parallel wiring creates OR operations. These patterns are the building blocks of all digital logic. Modern computers use billions of tiny electronic switches (transistors) arranged in series and parallel. These switches implement AND, OR, and other Boolean operations at incredible speed. Every calculation, every pixel on your screen, every bit of data – all built from these simple patterns! What you explored physically has a mathematical form called Boolean algebra. Instead of switches, we use variables (like x and y). Instead of "ON/OFF," we use "TRUE/FALSE" or "1/0." The AND and OR operations become mathematical operators that follow precise rules – rules you discovered by building circuits!
