Practice Test 1 — Detailed Solutions & Analysis Don't just check the score. Walk through fully worked solutions to the trickiest questions on Practice Test 1, learn the clean method for each, and turn every miss into a targeted review plan. The score at the bottom of the test is the least useful thing about it. The real value is in the review — and most students skip it. Here's the process that actually raises scores. Go through every question you missed — and every one you guessed or felt unsure about, even if it happened to be right. A lucky guess is a future miss waiting to happen. Re-solve it cold, before reading the explanation. Cover the answer and try again with no time pressure. If you can now get it, the issue was speed or a careless slip. If you still can't, it's a genuine content gap. Name the cause of each miss. Sort every miss into one of three buckets: Concept gap — you didn't know the method (e.g. completing the square, SOH-CAH-TOA). This is the most fixable: go relearn that one skill. Careless error — sign flip, misread the question, arithmetic slip, solved for the wrong variable. Track which kind you make most. Time pressure — you knew it but ran out of clock or rushed. Tag each miss with its domain — Heart of Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving & Data Analysis, or Geometry & Trigonometry. Patterns jump out fast: "I'm losing four points a test to careless sign errors in algebra" is something you can fix this week.
