Practice Test 3 — Detailed Solutions & Analysis Don't just check the score. Walk through the trickiest questions from Practice Test 3 one clean step at a time, see exactly where the traps are, and turn every miss into a skill you own. The score is the least useful thing a practice test gives you. The real value is the map of what you don't yet know — and you only get that map if you review every question, not just the ones you got wrong. Understand every miss completely. "Careless" is not a diagnosis. For each wrong answer, name the exact step that broke: a sign flip, a misread question, a setup error, or a concept you don't actually know. The fix is different for each. Re-derive, don't just read. Reading a solution feels like learning but rarely sticks. Cover the work, solve the problem again from scratch, and only then compare. If you can reproduce it, you own it. Audit your wins too. A question you got right by guessing, or by a slow ugly method, is a future miss waiting to happen. Note the clean method so it's automatic next time. Watch for the question behind the question. The SAT loves to solve for x and then ask for 2x + 2y . The last line of the problem is where points are lost. Below are ten fully worked solutions to a representative, varied spread of Practice Test 3 — across all four SAT Math domains, weighted toward the questions that catch students out. Each one states the problem, walks the steps, and lands on the answer. Worked Solution 1 Heart of Algebra
