Master spacecraft orientation using pitch, yaw, and roll – the three fundamental rotations that control position in 3D space! Pitch controls whether your spacecraft's nose points up or down. Move the slider to rotate around the lateral (side-to-side) axis! Yaw controls which direction your spacecraft faces. Move the slider to rotate around the vertical axis! Match the target orientation to complete your mission. You explored how three rotations – pitch, yaw, and roll – can orient any object in 3D space. These are called Euler angles , and they're one of several ways to describe 3D rotations mathematically. These rotations are used everywhere: aircraft navigation, spacecraft control, drone stabilization, robotics, 3D animation, virtual reality, and video games. Understanding how angles describe rotations is fundamental to all these fields. Trigonometric functions (sine, cosine, tangent) are the mathematical tools that convert between angles and positions.
