⏱ Time Management for 22 Questions Master pacing and the 3-pass strategy The ~95-Second-Per-Question Challenge With 22 questions in 35 minutes per module, you have about 95 seconds per question on average. But here's the critical insight: you shouldn't spend the same amount of time on every question. This is where strategic time management makes the difference. If you spend the same ~95 seconds on every question equally, you won't have any buffer left for the harder questions at the end. Instead, you need to allocate time strategically. Blast through easy questions. Get them right quickly. This is where you build your score foundation. Take your time on medium questions. These are your "score-boosters"—questions that separate good scores from great scores. Be smart on hard questions. You may not solve all of them, but the ones you do solve correctly significantly impact your score. The most effective approach to the SAT Math section is the 3-Pass Strategy. This is how elite test-takers manage time and maximize their score. Goal: Get through all easy questions quickly and correctly. Scan each question for key information Identify the easiest approach (mental math, simple formula) Solve and move on—don't second-guess yourself Target: 40-55 seconds per question Why this matters: Missing easy questions is your biggest scoring leak. These are your guaranteed points. Every missed easy question costs you significantly. Goal: Solve medium questions with care and accuracy.
