Master every AP topic — from limits to series
As of that date, the AP Calculus exam is a multiple-choice section (split into no-calculator and calculator parts) followed by a six-question free-response section, each worth half the score. Testing organizations change their formats, sometimes with little notice, and this course may not have caught up yet. Before you sit the AP Calculus exam, confirm the current structure and rules on AP Central. If anything here disagrees with the official source, the official source is right.
Change already announced: College Board has announced updated multiple-choice question counts and timing for AP Calculus AB and BC, effective with the May 2027 exams. If you are sitting the exam in 2027 or later, check AP Central for the new structure.
This course is still in our original format. All the content is here and free to use, but it has not yet been through the rebuild that gives our newer courses their interactive animations and cleaner visuals — so you may hit some rough edges. Spot an error? Send us a note and we will fix it.
Recommended preparation
Pre-Calculus is the ideal preparation — be comfortable with functions and trigonometry before the AP material.
