Here's what we learned: CLT applies to ANY population distribution: Even though the original population was exponentially distributed (highly skewed), the sampling distribution of the mean becomes approximately normal with a large enough sample size (n ≥ 30). Standard Error formula: The standard error of the sample mean is SE = σ/√n, which decreases as sample size increases, making our estimates more precise. Standardization is key: Converting to a z-score using z = (x̄ - μ)/(σ/√n) allows us to use the standard normal distribution to find probabilities, regardless of the original population distribution.
